Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: Clinical-Allied Specialty: N/A Duration: 14 Weeks Shift: Day/Evening Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 3 to 6 months as an MRI Technologist License: Registered technologist with ARRT certification as a R.T. (R) Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) Must-Have: - Knowledge of basic nursing practices related to MRI, including emergency procedures, sterile practices, and infection control techniques. - Excellent problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking skills. - Strong customer service skills. - Adaptability and collaboration. Description: Provides MRI exams for the diagnosis and treatment of patients as ordered by the physician or provider. Provides imaging that affects the adequacy of clinical data and research conclusions, as well as the correct diagnosis and treatment of patients. Efficiently operates related systems and equipment. Performs magnetic resonance imaging studies as ordered by the physician or provider according to approved procedures. Performs IV punctures and administers contrast as ordered. Executes exams with technical accuracy and in a timely manner. Identifies anatomical orientation on all related images. Completes communication of pertinent data to individuals responsible for patient care after the examination. Consults with professional staff members in the interpretation of results. Schedules patients for MRI exams. Assists with quality assurance and quality improvement of the PACS system. Ensures proper identification on all images and accurately completes computer functions according to department policies including appropriate edits, status changes, charges, logging, film marking, and storage preparation for proper follow-up. Keeps abreast of and implements new developments and improvements in the field of MRI. Communicates and interfaces effectively with clinicians, physicians, radiologists, technologists, and patients. Demonstrates the ability to provide care or service, adjusting approaches to reflect the developmental level of the population served, if applicable to position. Partners with patients and caregivers in care and decision making. Communicates in a respectful manner. Ensures a safe, secure environment. Individualizes the plan of care to meet patient needs. Modifies clinical interventions based on the population served. Provides patient education based on the assessment of learning needs of patients and caregivers.
