Engineer I, Controls FLSA Status: Exempt Department: Engineering
Reports to: Engineering Manager, Controls This position is not
eligible for Visa sponsorship Flex Work Eligible! This position
qualifies for the Flexible Work Policy. Employees receive 30 work
days annually to work from home! The initial amount of days is
prorated for the first year based on start date. GENERAL
DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE: The Engineer I, Controls is responsible for
developing and maintaining control system designs under the
direction of a senior engineer or manager. They provide direction
to designers and drafters regarding the documentation of their
designs. Provides engineering support to internal and external
customers and performs other tasks as assigned. ESSENTIAL JOB
FUNCTIONS: Functional & Technical Skills Translate requirements
into a system architecture and detailed design Design, integrate
and install industrial automation and control systems including PLC
controls, motor controls, and general machine controls. Validate
designs through analysis and testing Operational Excellence
Coordinate own design efforts to meet production schedules and
provide project task estimates and updates to project team.
Determine feasibility of modifying existing or designing new
equipment considering costs, time limitations, and other technical
and economic factors. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: BS in Electrical Engineering Experience: 0 years’
experience developing and maintaining control system designs.
Licenses/Certifications: Obtain and maintain railroad safety
training and credentials Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working
knowledge of business software including MS Office suite. Lead
design reviews consisting of multi-disciplined team members.
Collaborate with others to clarify requirements and develop
solutions. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: 0 years’
experience in the following: Industrial power systems and
automation Engine, generator, electrical traction, hydrostatics &
hydraulic controls Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation (RSLogix,
RSView, Ethernet, ControlNEt, DeviceNet) Licenses/Certifications:
EIT Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge in Autodesk and ERP
